The Canadian Biosphere Reserves Association (CBRA) is an association of Canada’s 18 Canadian biosphere regions.Over 2.3 Million Canadians live in UNESCO designated biosphere regions, and many of these residents develop and promote innovative approaches to conservation and economic development.

Biosphere Reserves are regions of global ecological significance, that make an on-going commitment to the United Nations to strive for sustainability. The majority of its 103,629 hectares is comprised of mountainous landscapes including high peals and deep valleys, but also includes coastal plains and 1,629 hectares of marine area. They are learning areas for sustainable development under diverse ecological, social and economic contexts, touching the lives of more than 250 million people.
